How to have the wedding of your dreams on any budget

Let's face it wedding's can be expensive. Planning a wedding can be stressful. Sometimes you would rather just elope! Let me tell you there are options!

Micro Weddings
Intimate Weddings
Elopements

All of these kinds of weddings really mean the same thing. It is a smaller wedding where the focus of your wedding is on the two of you getting married. Keeping the guest list short, it can be the two of you and your two witnesses or maybe just your closest community of people.

Planning a micro or intimate wedding is meant to be super easy and stress free. Here is how to plan your perfect small wedding:
1- Decide on how many people you want in attendance.
I say anything under 20 is totally doable on a small wedding budget. Once you breach 20 you need to look at larger venues and dining costs really start to rise.
2-Decide if you will do a ceremony only or ceremony and some sort of celebration
There are a lot of options when it comes to celebrating your marriage. You can keep it simple and bring along some cupcakes and champagne. You can decide to celebrate over brunch, lunch or dinner. Or you can keep it super simple and do a ceremony only. There are a lot of options for dining, it just depends on your budget.
3-Location
Now that you know how many people and what you will be doing you can decide on a location. The simplest is a free park to perform the ceremony - no chairs, no decor just show and get hitched - kinda like a pop up wedding. You can amp up the romance and reserve a gazebo at a local park. Or if your celebrating with food many restaurants offer a back room or banquet room to use for a simple 10 minute ceremony for free as long as your dining with them.
4- Pick a date
You've got your guest list, your location and what you will (or will not be serving) down for your intimate wedding. Now let's talk dates. If you choose a weekday (Monday through Wednesday) chances are very high that you can have your pick of any wedding venue in the state of Michigan - not many couples are getting married on Tuesday at noon - and with a small guest list - you can totally ask people to take a afternoon off of work to celebrate you!
That's it guys, it's really simple to plan a intimate, micro wedding or elopement in Michigan. Check out my other pages for venue and vendor suggestions.
