How to do a small wedding this fall

Small wedding's in the fall...

Michigan's weather can be tricky anytime of the year, but fall is very unpredictable. To plan a small wedding for the fall takes a little more care. Here are my suggestions for a successful fall small wedding.

I still like to keep it simple and cost effective. Using local parks is a great idea as long as you think ahead and prepare. Parks like Seven Lakes in Holly have Pavilions and Picnic Shelters we can use - even if just as a back up plan. Parks like Bush Park and Millpond Park offer Gazebo's you can rent, giving some protection from inclement weather. If you take the extra step to rent the Gazebo you can even add a few decorations to make it perfect for you.

Keep in mind the small wedding ceremonies are only 15 minutes long so you really don't need to rent chairs.

And food - well you can make a reservation at a local restaurant for afterwards or even bring catering to your home to again, keep the cost down.

The other option is to rent a small venue like the Fenton Community center or The Laundry Room in Fenton, these spaces are affordable options for indoor settings.

As we move into fall and winter weather remember your wedding can still be stress free and low cost!

What are wedding's looking like now?

We are in the second week of July 2021 and this is the heat of the wedding season for most wedding professionals. This year I am performing more than double my usual amount of ceremonies due to delays from last year and the beginning of this year and hopefully because couples love my style and what I have to offer.

So what are weddings looking like right now? I would say everything, they look like big, glorious celebrations and intimate, sweet little celebrations. The beauty of this summer's wedding's is that couples have really chosen what suites them best and are going for it! So I've seen all sorts of different ceremonies and locations and traditions and each one of them perfectly suited to their couple.

If you are thinking, gosh I just want to get married, then do it! Email me and let's talk about the options and what sounds the best for you.

Let's start with the facts -
  1. You need to apply for and obtain your marriage license from your local county clerk's office
  2. You will need to ask two people over 18 to come with you to serve as your witnesses
  3. Once you have your marriage license you have 3o days to get married before it expires
  4. Email me and we can work out the location, date and time!

Getting married in Michigan is not a difficult task if you are working with me, Nichole Bertucci, A Simple I Do, Wedding Officiant. I will walk you through the process of applying for your license as well as helping you find a location and then date and time so we can get you married.

I try to keep things simple and stress free! You can wear a wedding dress or jeans, you can exchange rings or not, you can write your own vows or use my modern standard wedding vows. Even as we keep your wedding day simple and easy we still have options to incorporate traditions and personal choices so your wedding ceremony feels just right for the two of you.

Did you know I offer special pricing for the simplest of weddings? That's right $85 to do a simple signing of your license Wednesday from 10am to 1pm or anytime and date outside of this is just $135 - want a little more?

Our elopement service is $227 bring along anyone you like and we'll write a custom ceremony, OR book an entire complete ceremony at a venue, including flowers, cakepops and photographers for just $800!

Just email me and we'll get to work.
