How to have the wedding of your dreams on any budgetLet's face it wedding's can be expensive. Planning a wedding can be stressful. Sometimes you would rather just elope! Let me tell you there are options! Micro Weddings Intimate Weddings Elopements All of these kinds of weddings really mean the same thing. It is a smaller wedding where the focus of your wedding is on the two of you getting married. Keeping the guest list short, it can be the two of you and your two witnesses or maybe just your closest community of people. Planning a micro or intimate wedding is meant to be super easy and stress free. Here is how to plan your perfect small wedding: 1- Decide on how many people you want in attendance. I say anything under 20 is totally doable on a small wedding budget. Once you breach 20 you need to look at larger venues and dining costs really start to rise. 2-Decide if you will do a ceremony only or ceremony and some sort of celebration There are a lot of options when it comes to celebrating your marriage. You can keep it simple and bring along some cupcakes and champagne. You can decide to celebrate over brunch, lunch or dinner. Or you can keep it super simple and do a ceremony only. There are a lot of options for dining, it just depends on your budget. 3-Location Now that you know how many people and what you will be doing you can decide on a location. The simplest is a free park to perform the ceremony - no chairs, no decor just show and get hitched - kinda like a pop up wedding. You can amp up the romance and reserve a gazebo at a local park. Or if your celebrating with food many restaurants offer a back room or banquet room to use for a simple 10 minute ceremony for free as long as your dining with them. 4- Pick a date You've got your guest list, your location and what you will (or will not be serving) down for your intimate wedding. Now let's talk dates. If you choose a weekday (Monday through Wednesday) chances are very high that you can have your pick of any wedding venue in the state of Michigan - not many couples are getting married on Tuesday at noon - and with a small guest list - you can totally ask people to take a afternoon off of work to celebrate you! That's it guys, it's really simple to plan a intimate, micro wedding or elopement in Michigan. Check out my other pages for venue and vendor suggestions.

Sweet and Simple Elopement "How to"You used to think an elopement meant traveling to a far off place in secret to marry your soul mate. However, today elopements can be done right near your home town and with you loving tribe standing right with you. The idea of an elopement is a simple sweet wedding ceremony. Simple and sweet...think around 10 guests, or less, the focus is on the two of you getting hitched and that's it. There are so many reasons couples chose an elopement ceremony and there is simply no wrong answer. I mean the entire reason I became an Ordained Officiant is so that every couple could have the marriage of their dreams so they could get married however they wanted. January 10, 2019 Karly and Derek got married! They chose to have an intimate wedding ceremony at the Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor surrounded by their closest family and friends. The Gandy Dancer in Ann Arbor offers a few private rooms to choose from. Karly and Derek were upstairs in the loft area. The table was set perfectly and the staff was amazing. They saw to every detail, their service was impeccable. It was time to begin the elopement ceremony. Karly and Derek chose to take the stairs to make a quiet and loving entrance, they stood at the head of the table where their family was seated. I stood off to the side to allow for pictures without me in them.
We shared a sweet elopement ceremony that spoke words of love and the meaning of a wedding ceremony, how a wedding ceremony is a celebration of journey and a highlight of your love. They shared simple vows with each other and exchanged rings. And of course I was able to pronounce them husband and wife and they celebrated with a kiss. After the elopement ceremony they shared celebratory hugs with family and we ended my time with them by signing the marriage license (had to make it legal). Karly wore a beautiful flower crown and long burgundy dress, it was perfect for her. Derek wore a suit that fit him perfectly. Karly had a beautiful bouquet of flowers. Their intimate wedding ceremony and celebration was perfect for them. It was such a wonderful time and I am excited to have shared this moment with them. #elopenotbroke Elope not broke! That needs to be your motto. You can have a beautiful, authentic, personal wedding ceremony and not break the bank. Let me tell you how. Elope in Michigan! Yes, you can elope, you can elope this week or next or a month from now. Michigan elopements allow you to focus on your love and your marriage. Eloping is mean to be simple and stress free. One, gather your tribe, your closest family and friends keep the list short, think around 10 people. Two, decide on a elopement venue or location. You can be inside or outside, use your favorite park or restaurant, the key is to keep it simple, don't over think it. But, here's the secret, call your favorite wedding venue, and ask about getting married on a Monday - at noon! Tell them you only want use of the venue for one hour - see what the rate is - it's a steal I promise! Because...you only need the space and 10 chairs, your not bringing in floral and vendors and food just you, your favorite ten people...that's it! Three, pick a photographer - yes, this is a splurge item but in my opinion any wedding day needs amazing photos and there is one way to do that - hire a great photographer or...get your tribe to buy their services as your gift! Four, grab your marriage license; you gotta make that elopement legal. Oh, and fifth and final step...hire me. We will craft the most dreamy, personal and loving elopement ceremony. Boom! There you go, your hitched. You can always go to your local favorite restaurant to celebrate or head back to your house to celebrate your elopement with champagne and crackers and cheese. Whatever way you choose to get married make your marriage personal and all about your love. |
