How to Elope in Michigan | A Simple I Do Wedding Officiants

Eloping is one of the most intimate, romantic, and stress-free ways to say “I do.” Whether you’re dreaming of exchanging vows by a lake, in a charming downtown setting, or in a cozy private studio, Michigan offers countless beautiful spots for your elopement. With Nichole Bertucci of A Simple I Do as your officiant, the process becomes simple, heartfelt, and perfectly tailored to you.

Step 1: Choose Your Elopement LocationMichigan has something for every couple. You could share vows in a park surrounded by trees, downtown among historic buildings, or even in one of A Simple I Do’s private studio spaces for a stylish, elegant feel. Popular options include Battle Alley in Holly, Meadow Brook Hall gardens, or Independence Oaks County Park. Whether you want adventure or intimacy, there’s a Michigan elopement location that’s right for you.

Step 2: Get Your Marriage LicenseBefore you can elope, you’ll need a marriage license. In Michigan, you apply at the county clerk’s office. If at least one of you lives in Michigan, you can apply in your home county. Out-of-state couples apply in the county where they’ll be married. Bring valid photo ID, and plan ahead for the three-day waiting period. Once you’ve got your license, it’s valid for 33 days.

Step 3: Book Your OfficiantThis is where A Simple I Do and Nichole Bertucci come in. Nichole has more than 17 years of experience officiating weddings of all sizes and styles. She brings warmth, professionalism, and a true passion for celebrating love. With more than 300 five-star reviews, couples know they can trust Nichole to make their elopement personal, stress-free, and legally binding.

Step 4: Plan the Little DetailsEven if you’re eloping, you can add meaningful touches. Write your own vows, exchange rings, or invite a few close friends as witnesses. Nichole will guide you through the ceremony, making sure it feels uniquely yours.

Why Choose A Simple I Do for Your ElopementEloping in Michigan is easy, but having the right officiant makes it memorable. From the moment you reach out, she’ll make the process clear and simple so you can focus on what matters most—each other.
