2.22.22 was a magical day full of weddings. When I started receiving so many inquiries from couples to tie the knot on February 22, 2022 I knew I had to make a plan. I set up shop at my local bakery, Cupcakes and Kisses in downtown Holly. I bought a ton of cupcakes so each couple would have a sweet treat and I was ready for a day of wedding ceremonies and love. 

I made a little post online about my wedding marathon day and the most beautiful soul Shelby of Monette Co. Photography messaged me to ask if she could pop in and take photos...for free! You see she wanted some of that 2.22.22 magic and who am I to deny anyone!? Have I told you how talented Shelby is? Take a look at her work HERE 

The day was so good! Each couple joined Shelby and I at Cupcakes and Kisses, we signed their license and then did a quick simple "I do" and off they went with Shelby to snap some photos. And this went on, serving one couple every half hour until we reached the end of serving our couples together and then off I went to do a few offsite weddings. 

It was a true dream to be of service to so many couples on February 22, 2022 and of course every other day of the year. 

Let's start with the facts - 

1. You need to apply for and obtain your marriage license from your local county clerk's office 
2. You will need to ask two people over 18 to come with you to serve as your witnesses 
3. Once you have your marriage license you have 3o days to get married before it expires 
4. Email me and we can work out the location, date and time! 

Getting married in Michigan is not a difficult task if you are working with me, Nichole Bertucci, A Simple I Do, Wedding Officiant. I will walk you through the process of applying for your license as well as helping you find a location and then date and time so we can get you married. 

I try to keep things simple and stress free! You can wear a wedding dress or jeans, you can exchange rings or not, you can write your own vows or use my modern standard wedding vows. Even as we keep your wedding day simple and easy we still have options to incorporate traditions and personal choices so your wedding ceremony feels just right for the two of you. 

Did you know I offer special pricing for the simplest of weddings? That's right $85 to do a simple signing of your license Wednesday from 10am to 1pm or anytime and date outside of this is just $135 - want a little more? 

Our elopement service is $275 bring unto 20 guests and we'll write a custom ceremony, OR book an entire complete ceremony at a venue, including flowers, cakepops and photographers - we've got connections to make it all happen~ 

Battle Alley, downtown Holly MI is located in the heart of downtown Holly, it is a side street lined with shops and bistro lights and tables and chairs set out for public use. The murals and atmosphere lend itself to a quaint setting for your signing service. This is an all outdoor space, so be prepared for the elements or to duck into the local coffee shop or bakery if needed. I love this space for the hallmark movie feels and the pictures! 

Just outside of downtown Holly is a slip of land called Waterworks Park, its a great drop in site for kayakers but it also has this great natural stream side space for a small ceremony or signing. This is an outdoor only location, be prepared for the elements if necessary. I love this park for the natural backdrop it provides. 

Just outside of downtown Fenton is Bush Park, if you enter off of Leroy Road you land right at the Gazebo which is available to rent or we can take a walk and find the perfect spot near the stream or willow trees for your intimate ceremony or signing. I love this park for the many options of spaces it provides and having a covered gazebo in case of rain certainly is nice. Remember this is a public park so there will be people, dogs and others milling about and enjoying the scene. 

If you are looking for an indoor space for your intimate wedding or signing I suggest renting one of the many rooms at the Fenton Community Center. May I also suggest a weekday booking with them as you can get a room for an hour for around $50! Cost efficient and pretty! 

In Michigan it was -9 degrees when I took my son to school this morning. It's now a balmy 14 degrees and guess what...I'm still doing signings and elopements outdoors!

Why you might ask? 

1. Covid - ugh, still! 
2. Cost effective - like zero dollars to stand in a park 
3. Time efficient - with restaurants requiring reservations and backup's in waiting for a table, meeting outdoors for 10 minutes or less takes less time. 

Now, none of this is to say I won't go indoors, I've done plenty of elopements indoors at local venues and beyond. But I want you to know, I'm happy to stand outdoors with you still, in the cold and do you signing or elopement, bundle up!
